What is the aging process?

In time, cells tend to get tired of ensuring organs' functioning and they become overused. To that are added other risk factors such as toxins in our diet, abusing fat, sugar, caffeine, alcohol, cigarette smoking or illicit substances consumption. The sun is also harmful due to its ultraviolet rays damaging the skin. All those in combination to permanent physical and emotional stress to which we are generally submitted lead to a rapid process of aging. Dr. Weissmann, however, states that no matter how healthy we may live, all we can do is slow down the process and enjoy youth longer, because just using the organs we are endowed with by nature is enough to wear them out. More uncommonly met causes are bacteria or different kinds of viruses affecting the well-function of the body.
